>tfw still have to figure out when/how to get Galvatron, and OptimusMy money...
>>9291368Going to bed, but I mean, Jetfire didn't seem "worth it" when I heard commander classes were a thing. Certainly warmed up to him after I got Sky Lynx. Like, "one big guy (for you) who turns into a jet, and uh.. th-that's all he did" seemed meh. Whereas Sky Lynx separates, each mode stands and handles well, and we get an extra base mode for funsies? That's more than a leader's value. Whereas Rodimus - and I do like the figure and its pros, but to sort of describe it as poorly/crassly as possible:
>oversized version of Hot Rod with somewhat similar engineering>trailer that sort of sits snugly but not that much: looks like Hot Rod's car half-inserted into a trailer>indifferent to battle effects, and it's legitimately mildly concerning how the smoke looks like pollution compared to Hot Rod's>indifferent to big cannon I haven't heard about and no idea what to do with (and no idea how fun or posable it might be)>no idea what to do with the space in the trailer>no idea what to use the sword with and who to fight withThere's a lot of good parts here, sure. But I've bought "good" toys that I never ended up enjoying. What's the push from "this is a good factory product" to "wow this is really really fun"? Like, what's the "fun factor" if that makes any sense? Rodimus doesn't have anyone to fight, nothing to do...
I've gone between giddy anticipation for him and just getting stressed and disappointed about Rodimus, I wouldn't even be surprised if the issue's not even about the figure. I mean, I really love Hot Rod, but I'm too careful with him and he doesn't roll well, so I'm not having "fun" with him, even though I'm pleased to have him on my desk.
