>>7927162When thinned they are pretty similar to enamels, but even in unthinned state they can be very useful. You can smooth them out and blend them on your model to make for easy streaks, filters and highlights.
I mostly use them for weathering, but I also once did a kit that was purposefully done only with unthinned oil paint. It actually ended up being some of my favorite work.
