And that /toy/ liking any mainstream big box toylines by Mattel and Hasbro is pretty insignificant. Hasbro and Mattel sell millions of these figures to mostly just kids. collectors make up like 10% of the market.
Whereas a line by DCC/NECA/Sentinel/GoodSmile sells anywhere from a couple thousand to maybe 80k. 100k+ would involve major retailer support, like from WalMart (probably only NECA and McFarlane have gotten these numbers for their collector lines).
So i think /toy/ is a pretty good reflection on the collector's market and what sells.
