Or is Japanese labor really really that much cheaper... but not really, since i know that CGI animators over there actually get a living wage.
Only reason i heard for animation to go over to CGI is handle more complex scenes, as they take forever to animation in 2d... which would still cost less despite that.
Also, i read that sprite animators don't really exist anymore and are most costly now because of their rarity.
