I had mine for 4yrs and haven't used it for more than a year and a half and it's still perfectly fine when I open it in pic related after all that time. It's inert to any lacquer or any other thinner/modeling liquid it has touched nor stained anything despite leaving it on a painted model for month if I forgot about it.
Enamel thinner and acetone are the only two things that seemed to "thin" it to some degree so I'll try not to use it with those involved. I never washed it and I'm not sure if you should have done with soap either tho
As for what you can do about it maybe leave it be open somewhere for some time and see if it fixes itself, let it "sweat away" whatever crap it has. Also hot temperatures (as in blow-dryer applied on it for long) affected it, making it melty and sweating, but that was me being an impatient tard and cleaned off the paintjob fine
