As for the figure
Go for the new one
Besides the red almost all the painted colors got replaced with metallic version.
The original yellow plastic all got replaced with painted gold or molded gold (parts for the back)
The torso is now molded in red plastic with the white painted in instead of the gray plastic painted in red
The lion head is able to spin freely
But doing so the new one is now missing two guns (the original comes with four)- the head no longer have the space for them
But the best improvement I think is with the shoulder joints.
The original figure the shoulder joints just flaps around and barely holding the arms.
The new one is tight.
