>>10633444Yeah! Dreadnoughts are "piloted" by a space marine who was too wounded to return to action, but whose combat experience was too valuable to lose. So, they essentially entomb the marine into the dreadnought, and its life support systems allow the marine to continue fighting for hundreds and even thousands of years.
The Redemptor is a newer dreadnought variant which is much larger and more powerful, but in turn it places a greater strain on the "pilot" and causes them to die much faster than a standard Dreadnought pilot (latest lore may have partially retconned this, though).
