I know in Japan they have a different relationship with dolls, maybe the aesthetic is connected to that.
However, deciding that ALL BJD look weird? A lot of them are supposed to be ethereally beautiful, which gives them an uncanny valley kind of look, which makes them kind of creepy. Especially due to their size, the glass eyes, the realistic hair. A doll as a creepy object is a common horror trope. But that doesn't make them ugly. Many people can appreciate them, but like other anon said, if you don't, you don't have to announce it to the whole thread.
