>>6462484And how many riots did you see from workers during that time?
How much did toy costs increase?
Little to nothing.
From 2006 - 2011, lines like Marvel Legends went from being $8 to $20.
From 2008 (or whenever the 25th line started) to 2012, GI Joes went from being $5 to $10.
From 2008 to 2012 the MU line went from being $6 to $10.
Star Wars? Same shit.
How much do any of these lines cost NOW? Star Wars is at $11 at Walmart. MU line, despite being completely downgraded, is $12. Marvel Legends? Still $20, despite upgrades in articulation and extra paint apps.
You may point to import lines, but the Japanese yen has been in constant influx, which affects prices hugely. So you can't really compare their prices to the mightly stable dollar, which is where you would notice any differences in prices.
Even fucking indy lines like 4H's stuff had a huge varying increase in costs. Their older stuff was, i believe, $20 for things like the Minotaurs (2006?), Queens ($20 in 2009), to Scarabus being $30 in 2011.
How much do 4H's stuff cost now? ~$30 (which INCLUDES shipping).
So if the wages increased a ton in China since 2012, it sure as fuck didn't change much for toy workers (nevermind that constant that the packaging cost would go up as well)
