By that I mean they look like robots not dudes in suits, and/or the moving parts tends to rub against each other (e.g. SHF) and I'm afraid of leaving marks when posing. There's something to be said about mixing ABS and PVC, all PVC sculpt has its advantage. I get it, we hate the soft look for a mechanical suit but I think only the face matters so having the helmet as ABS would satisfy most people. Posing capability wise Yamaguchi clearly knows how to show the difference of man in suit and a robot. I like the Bandai plamo for easy handling but the LED gimmick killed any torso articulation
The IP seems to be in that licensing loophole being a manga, as we see with Sentinel, Threezero, and Kotobukiya taking a crack at it. If AY is only going after hot IPs I prefer something like this.
