It's a pain in the ass to dress her but it's refreshing to be able to go down to Kmart or Target and buy clothes for her there. Sometimes I put my clothes on her and pin them to fit. She actually makes more of an impression with guests than the dolls. I've loved shop mannequins since I was small so it's also a kind of lifelong dream to own one.
All that being said though, it would be fun to have a life sized BJD that you could pose. I'm kind of eyeing up a Trinity for that reason, even though they're child-sized. Mannequins are actually a pain in the ass to get a hold of here in the boonies. Cost about as much as an MSD for a new one. The one I had my heart set on was second hand and a little grubby, but it wasn't anything a magic eraser couldn't fix.
