Gunpla noobie here.
I've been building scale military models since I was a kid, but I recently started watching the Gundam shows and I naturally wanted to try my hand at Gunpla since my local hobby shop carries them.
I built a quick snap-fit HGUC Zeta Gundam, no painting and light detail work/panel lining, but now I want more of a challenge.
I picked up an MG Zaku II and some can Tamiya paints (i'm going to go for that red Char look). I also plan on doing tons of detail and weathering.
My real question though, after reading through both the guide and the Layman's Gunpla guide is this: is it better to build the entire gunpla kit, then disassemble and paint? Or should I do it by individual piece like with a scale model? Or should I put the component parts (Head, torso, limbs) together, then disassemble and paint, then combine them all for the final product?
