In fact in the anime when it's shown as a pale yellow blob it's usually because their ki isn't flowing and lighting them up, which makes for a dull figure unless a company wants to try some weird reflective material that makes the yellow hair look gold when light hits it. I think some of the cheap figures back in the day tried that, actually.
