Since most Marvel collectors have been used to the ML style, which is a more realistic generic look, something like Yamaguchi's style looks really cartoony. And because of the weird articulation, it turns a lot of western collectors off, since that articulation looks as bad as the gimmick shit we were getting pre-2000.
In short, the articulation impedes on the overall look of the toy and turns more people off, as it only looks good from carefully shot angles. The stylized sculpt does it no favors.
