>>8347355>>8347383here I just did a test on a black plastic piece which will require the most cleanup to have a smooth surface, I only went up to 1000 grit too with an admittedly old sanding stick which has been worn down. getting rid of the nub and cleaning this entire surface took me 1 minute in total.
getting the nub and minor surface deformations gone took me about 30 seconds and with that it's completely ready for priming, of course with a lot of bad nub placements this will take a bit longer because it requires precision but 30 seconds for this to be completely ready to be primed, I would not call that slow so please don't dismiss sanding sticks because a lot of people, me included vastly prefer this method of cleaning our surfaces.
