But they're messy, you've applied techniques suited to miniatures, but miniature scale techniques don't scale well to larger figures. The paint isn't smooth, nor are the painted areas "clean."
Here's a 1/100 Tallgeese I painted years ago. It might looked airbrushed, but it's actually handbrushed. Proper thinning, proper application and multiple coats = better end product.
When it comes to painting figures, you need to apply different techniques depending on scale. The larger the item in question, the smoother and cleaner your paint job needs to be. That's why so many people use air brushes. Hell, even though pic related is hand brushed, even I moved on to an airbrush.
You got SOUL, you just need practice.
