the jacket definitely felt like it could come off, to me. I didn't push it hard, but I was able to slip paint underneath it. I bet you could remove it.
For that matter, you could probably putty some sculpted fur onto the pants and crotch area, and restore a more classic look. you'd already be using that for his face, right? since really only the muzzle is like DK.
