Bandai targets low-skill crowd that expects amazing results out of the box with no effort. There are limits on how good kit can look OOB at low cost Bandai customers expect. Pic sort of related.

I was building some BF optional weapons the other day and the runners were full of actual bubbles to the point of parts falling off the runner (luckily no bubbles in the parts themselves). Koto kits never ever had that issue.
