Usually when I would spend money on myself it would be for vidya, so then I would get lasting direct gameplay out of it. Buying something that just sits on my desk that I occasionally re-pose and take a picture or two of sets off one of the carnal instincts in my brain that goes "YOU FUCKING STUPID CUNT YOU NEED THAT MONEY FOR SHIT" even though I spend like $25-40 on groceries a week and under $700 on rent a month.
