I try brushing the dust off of my dolls a few times per year, but every time I do it I mess up their hair ever so slightly, and a few fly away hairs always pop up.
I recently found a nude live action Cinderella doll, and her hair was really short. At first I though someone cut it, but later realized that it was the Wedding doll that has short hair. It was a nightmare trying to get it to look right. It looks a thousand times better than it did at the thrift shop, but it will never look factory perfect.
I sometimes wonder if dolls get their hair styled by talented factory workers or if a machine does all the hair styling.
