But then again, Neca gargoyles also need to put the kneecap overlap on the shin-piece, not the leg-piece! Gargoyles have upward knee spikes, not downward ones. But yeah for knees, same deal. i'm okay with a 'knee island' because the kneecap literally is a floating bone attached by tendons, that moves around as you bend a joint. Not everything has to stay perfectly flush from all angles while bending.
