Drilling in holes and glueing in individual nubs into the sockets is definitely not the same like those rubber rings Volks adds. At least the ones on my SD10 guy just get stuck all the time or stick out all akwardly when posed, since they are not glued into the socket but just stuck onto the strings. The ones Dollshe does are pleasantly hidden and work better too, and as far as I know Volks only offers Kips as extra service, or do they nowadays all come with them?
Islanddoll glues in a full silicone cover, which is apparently also pretty good (snatched that pic from a DoA box opening, don't have one myself).
