So I've been struggling with getting a Disney Store outfit onto a normal MtM Barbie body. I've seen people online put the exact same outfit on their MtM doll with no issues, but for some reason my Princess outfit wouldn't fasten in the back. Was anyone else in these threads aware that in 2018 Mattel made the normal non-curvy MtM body thicker / fatter ? It seems that there are now two different versions of the "Normal" thin MtM body. And no, I'm not talking about the Curvy MtM body vs the Normal thin MtM body. I realized that Mattel had increased the waist size of the normal MtM body when I found these two nude dolls while thrifting. At first I thought they were the same doll until I noticed that their skin tones were different. Then I looked closer, and noticed that the 2015 soccer doll had a tinier waist line , while the newer 2018 basket ball doll had a slightly more thinker waist line.
I put the Princess outfit on the original 2015 MtM body and boom it fit perfectly. This whole thing has left me wonder are there two different "Standard" thin MtM bodies that get used now or are all post 2018 MtM standard bodies thicker now?
