What really did it for me is when boomer armchair-pilots wanted to crucify the pilot who crashed a restored Mig-15UTI on its second flight. Sure, in the end it was pilot error, but the spergout from the old forum farts was disgraceful.
Also it didn't help that the site's engine was built from scratch in the early 2000's, and the owner is a stubborn boomer who refuses to revamp the site.
