I'm selling a bunch of toys for my girlfriend whose dad died a couple months ago. he had a big toy collection. It's a bunch of stuff that he thought was going to be expensive one day, and some of it is. Mars attacks, lost in space, vintage tin toy robots. '60s Japanese robots. Early '90s reproductions of '60s Japanese robots. some of them have gone for a grand.
but the one that I thought was the coolest was this Japanese one called "mechanical Happy Grandpa with ringing mill". It's just this lovely little tin toy by Yone from the sixties and you wind it up and the umbrella spins and the man reading his book rocks back and forth, and the chickens runs around and the windmill goes. It's just so nice and clever. and it only went for like 50 bucks. and the buyer isn't even a collector, it's some company in California that buys things off eBay and then resells them in Asia.
