>>10572994>>10575403>>10577104Thanks. The base is a round corner shelf I bought on Amazon. The walls are made out of thin boards I got from hobby lobby that I cut to fit the shape of the shelf. They're just glued and stapled together. Before assembling I painted all the pieces. The painting was probably the most tedious part. I couldn't find a easy technique for painting the checkerboard patterns that weren't just "paint the rest of the owl" types of instructions so I sort of created a technique of creating layers of masking tape where I would peel the tape off to paint a row of the pattern, wait for the paint to dry, then reapply the tape to the base before moving on to the next row. The checkerboard pattern on the wall was basically the same process except for only two rows and to make the pattern smaller I took a line of the masking tape and cut it in half. The grey portion of the wall I painted with a black layer, then a white layer, then a grey layer. I put little bits of masking tape when I painted the white layer and then moved them little on the same spot for the grey area to created a peeling paint look to some spots.the black portion of the wall is just a single layer of black paint. If I were to make it again I'd do more layers of black on the black parts of the wall. On the grey parts Im guessing because of the multiple layers the texture really looks like plaster or something because of how the paint beaded i think. You can still see and feel the wood texture in the black portions. On the edge of the base I did multiple layers of a glossy red paint to created I nice wet looking bloody underground to the floor. The paper pals and the poster I just printed from my computer at around the correct scale. The paperpals I had to draw in Ms paint myself. It was a little tedious to fold the arms and legs to create that ribbon like effect but it wasn't too bad. I did two bases and picked the best one.
