>>8804793A lot of heat guns can be adjusted to run cooler than hair dryers, and include precision nozzles so you can concentrate the heat more efficiently. I use a heat gun kind of like this to fix stress marks on old toys boiling water won't and it usually takes a few second of circular blowing to solve, and I've only ruined a few dollar store figures I was practicing on by touching the nozzle, which will melt the plastic irreparably.
It really works remarkably and well and gives you a bit more control than a hair dryer is designed to. Then again I also use it for tons of other DIY stuff, so if you only need it once, you might a well risk the hair dryer.
