Went back to the shop I got the Gengar and the Pocket set from and got this old electronic Meowth they had all dirty and grimed up. Surprisingly enough his battery was still working when I tried him there, albeit with low audio from his little speaker. One soak in soapy water and a new battery later and here he is, all clean and presentable like. Still working well after his bath, but I’m not entirely sure how his electronics are activated. There’s a hole in his mouth that looks like a sensor, but waving my hand in front of him doesn’t do much. But if I set him down or move him around like he’s walking on his feet he’ll start to talk. So I dunno. Funny little guy though!
