>>8240949You know how they sometimes say great artists are "young and hungry?" That's third parties. There are so many of them out there now, all making the same pool of characters, so there's a real "race to the top" atmosphere, with everyone trying to one-up the others.
Hasbro, on the other hand, doesn't really give a fuck. Their toys are going to ship out worldwide whether they're good or not, and they're one of the biggest toy companies in the world, only trailing Lego and Bandai. They only need to be passably good, there's no fire under their ass, no real need to do better.
