Nobody buys things JUST because of their price tag. They buy them because they like what they're buying . Like for example, I could choose to buy a $20 black series palpatine that...doesn't even resemble Ian McDiarmid, if we're being honesty...or you know, I could go with the Hot Toys Darth Sidious that's coming up that looks EXACTLY like Ian McDiarmid from Revenge of the Sith. Yes, it is SIGNIFICANTLY more expensive, but it depends on the type of collector you are. Do you want to have a LOT of figures, having as many characters from your franchise of choice? Then yeah, the cheaper options are better for your taste of collecting. But if you want to just have a few nice things, then some people will choose to spend more money.
But it's not like I am buying the Hot Toys Sidious to brag "oh, look how much I am spending on this toy". I'm buying it because I LIKE it.
