>>6207571>Corporate suits are always a big hinderance to creativity, but audiences are still the end deciding factor on if they think something works or not when it is presented to them.However if they're never presented with anything else they're just going to want the same thing until they're tired with it. I don't think the general public are super fantasy nerds they just go with whatever big thing is talked about and don't generally give a fuck.

It really helped matters that the game itself was popular for its unforgiving nature, and the plain armors helps give a sense of 'I am really nothing super special'The starting armor is yeah but you get more elaborate armor as the game progresses. Havel's armor for example with it's horse leg boots is one of my favorite even though I never used his armor ever.
Also I'd say the Witcher has far more blander armor given that it's supposed to be our world but there's some monsters so Geralt can't walk around looking like this he has to be practical since he's a hunter.
It's a shame the black knight set is getting a figma and not the Havel set.
