Bionicle for one nearly DEMANDS more flexibility in content than the 4-10 market will allow for, and it's laughable that they tried to make it a Transformers knockoff to pander to babies when the only thing that got it off the ground in the beginning was how dismal and darksouls-esque the original stories felt.
