Speaking of old vs new designs, I didn't like how everyone pretty much have their own berserk mode mouths in the new films. The gimmick I really liked for 02 was the opening of the armor showing the 4 glowing sharp eyes.
Colour scheme I still like the old TV ver, I think the simplicity works, makes them a bit more realistic somehow. Proportions go with what ever is the modern, like the late stages of the manga. Plus Blue 00 is a good look.
I do like all the new additional Eva Units too. Would be interesting to see all of them recoloured to fit in along the old TV ones.
