Like I mentioned before, it's Vallejo, Model Color line. I do have Tamiya paints but they are less handy in brush painting due to how quickly they dry - so quickly that they need to be greatly thinned, even up to 3-2 ratio and in such case they are flowing like colored thinner they are at this point, not only requiring 3-4 layers but also making it extremely easy to apply too much and screw up consistency. It IS possible to use them and in fact I did so far (pic related were painted with Tamiya) but Vallejo are dedicated acrylics for brush and it shows.
I tested 1-1 water-paint ratio and it is clearly too much. According to /tg/, if paint basically flows on surface and drip from brush, it is too much. That explains why Duncan apply water using brush and does so with very precise amount. Reaching "sweet spot" is hard but Im getting closer with each try. And I assure you I won't stop trying.
Oh and I never heard about using soap, I will try to find more info. Thanks.
