>>6183612Plenty of Anons here just take what can be considered average to below average pictures but it doesn't matter--- they're not trying to be creative they're trying to have fun and snap a pic to capture it.
What I have a problem with is when people reject critique or think they're somehow above it. that's my biggest issue with the ACBA.
Look at pic related. The four in the grid are from four different toy photographers, but two of them are "prominent" ACBA artists that talk a lot of shit about how good they are and how the rest of us need to "step it up" Notice how cliche and homogenous they both look?
This is why critique is important as well as not acting like you're somehow exempt or beyond criticism and learning. I guarantee neither of those two took the time to actually learn photography theories which would be fine except for the fact that they act like they're God's gift to the hobby.
Dioramas can be good, that Iron Giant one is testament that not EVERYTHING has to be in an alley and the one on the far right shows that you can take typical ACBA tropes like the cutout words and actually kinda make it work with good composition and flow.
In the end, I say do what you want and how you want it but if you're actually looking to improve then be open to feedback from others and don't overestimate yourself because there's nothing worse than a Marvel Legends figure fighting a bunch of mooks right in front of a brick wall with clashing color backdrops and poor white balance telling us to "be on their level"
