While not every one was like this, a lot of Armada minicons had tube arms, wheel feet, bizarre proportions, weird faces--basically, they look like really classic sci-fi robots, more Robby the robot or roboforce than super robot. Stuff that would look bizarre(or Vehicon) on a full size figure.
Where as, Micromasters are just small traditional Transformers.
