So to keep this brief, NECA made a playset of Donnie’s Lab, an expansion to their popular Sewer Lair playset. This cost $300 and was a made to order product only available directly through the NECA store. Well, people started receiving their labs a few weeks ago and some people received 2 of these, despite only ordering 1. Weeks go by and now yesterday NECA starts emailing people who received their labs telling them that they have to return these extra labs to NECA. They even offered $100 gift card to the NECA store for those who do. However, they immediately threatened anyone who doesn’t return the extra will be essentially banned from the NECA store. Flash forward to today and they sent another email saying that by now they should’ve received shipping labels and now saying that anyone who doesn’t return the extra lab will BE CHARGED. This is a clear violation of FTC law. Whether they go through with the charges or not, we’ll see, but this is not a good look for the company for sure. What do other collectors think? Are they in the right or the wrong?
