>>7716475Blotchy paintjobs are a result of using paint that's too thick. Newbies often think paint is meant to be used straight out of the bottle. Acrylics can be thinned with water, acrylic thinner, Future floor polish, or alcohol. Lots of thin coats will be smoother than a single thick one. Don't forget to clean your figure to remove any skin oil or mold release, and give it a good coat of primer first.
Some paints are better suited to hand painting than others. I hear Vallejo is particularly good for that.
