Modern means up to date. This record player is brand new, made a few years ago, but it sure as fuck isn't modern with it's early 1940s technology.
As i was saying in my post, many toys today have regressed. Uglier joints. Less paint. Lots of cost cutting decisions, which makes toys from 7 years ago look better.
