So I grabbed FT Soar reissue. Not happy at all with the jacked up price but I never did manage to complete my Dinobots set and it seems there's zero chance FT prices will ever go down. Arrived the other day and man, having him in hand just reminds me how fucking much FT has changed since then, and not for the better. The amount of diecast they use always seemed to vary (Soar is fucking packed with the shit while Grinder by comparison doesn't have nearly as much) but I can at least appreciate that they used the bulk of it in the legs to help with weight and balance against those wings, and it's also not used on super integral joints where its going to sheer itself the fuck apart eventually. Compare that to now where diecast is all over with no thought or care put into balance and the things have a dozen ratchet joints made out of it. The aesthetic is also just so much better than the slavish toon accuracy of today, with the overall design and proportions fitting in with the MP10 era hybrid aesthetics. I missed this shit from them because they did it well and despite some flaws, this figure still holds up today.

>BUT GIGAPOWER!
Don't get me wrong, I do think Gigapower dinobots look great but the aesthetic is just a bit too much for my tastes and to fit in with what I already have. Plus I still can't excuse the flaw of their Grimlock where they gave it no ankle rockers, and you can't really mix and match between them and the Iron Dibots.
