>>6475871>you pay it for the figures to have a significantly more detailed sculpt/paint appsThese are features.
And most figures do not have more paint or sculpted detail. It all really depends on the sculptor too.
Most times it's just better quality control, but is that's generally just worth a dollar or two more (Hasbro or NECA would literally need to pay about 10¢ per figure for that).
Articulation also depends no the design and brand. Revoltechs have more than most companies out there, but it's not 2-4x more articulation. You're paying for pieces here, as engineering doesn't add to the cost, as most things are planned out the same way.
The true cost savings are with Hasbro reusing molds, but with the examples i used in the pic, most superheroes are in their correct height and simple spandex bodies makes for retools to be used right. This is more bang for your buck, because what's the point of getting an original new body if it's not needed except to add to the cost?
To add to my examples, it's the same shit with their MU and GI Joe figures. Import figures and other collector lines really do not add 2-4x more features. I mean, I'm paying ~$30 for one figure vs two figures for $15.
That's less than half the cost, and while Acid Rain figures have a ton more paint, it's not really 3x more and articulation isn't 3x more. As a whole, it's roughly 2x more feature per feature, so considering the cost, it's not a lot of bang for my buck.
Almost no collector line really offers more bang for my buck than a cheapo Hasbro figure.
I may like certain lines, like Mezco's One:12 line, way better and will choose their stuff over any other line out, but I sure as fuck don't think I'm paying a fair price feature per feature.
I don't see the point in lying to myself to justify the prices I pay, because i like what i like and the price matters little. So i don't get why you're trying to push your lies on me.
