The thing to understand about Gourai is that she is a soldier through and through and when operating autonomously will not leave the mission area until all objectives have been completed. Multiple Gourai are known to band together as a unit regardless of designation. They are extremely compliant, have mastered multiple forms of standard issue weaponry, and are above all else, durable. While built for longevity their weapons tend to favor a low amount of munitions juxtaposed with a heavy payload.
When retrofitted to carry a greater amount of munitions they have been known to be able to hold captured bases almost indefinitely.
With an emphasis on longevity that's not to say they can't operate outside of their role.
An especially popular strategy for low level skirmishes is to gather three Gourai for a 'BAZOOKA RUSH', which allows a small team of Gourai to easily take camps and facilities by overwhelming them with rapid explosive fire in a concentrated area.
Their innate strengths aside, a Gourai's versatility is really only limited by its level of experience and load out. Veteran, battle hardened Gourai are said to have even have felled Durga and Magatsuki on the battlefield using only a knife.
