so I've been having fun using my airbrush lately, but I've noticed that sometimes it doesn't really put out any paint. I make sure the needle is seated properly, the nozzle is unobstructed, I'm pretty anal about cleaning (especially in between paints), yet usually when I start a new color nothing really happens, maybe a tiny bit of paint+thinner (even with the trigger pulled all the way back). I've experimented with different PSIs (between 20 and 40) and it doesn't change. after a few minutes of desperately hoping for paint to come out, it usually finally does, and quite heavily too. I thought maybe it's because the thinner+paint aren't properly mixed, so I guess I'll try mixing it in the airbrush next time with the reservoir cap on (to avoid spillage; this airbrush was also pretty cheap, and it's my first one, so I'm fine with some "improper" techniques, so long as I learn the ropes).
I've also gotten speckling while basecoating with yellow, even at higher PSIs. is that just a byproduct of yellow being annoying to paint with?
