TRU supported the toyline so it kept on getting new waves and when they started needing to refinance everything because of their inability to pay up, the line was canceled because TRU was the only major buyer and selling on credit alone = you're never going to be compensated for the product produced.
Still, since it takes over a year to produce a toyline, there were prototypes made that TRU couldn't afford for 2017 (see pic). So Hasbro was still making plans up to around they started showing signs of not being able to pay up.
