It also explicitly shows a fat alien ARRIVING on mars via glowing green asteroid. So yes, these aliens are at least not native to mars and might be capable of interstellar travel themselves. We haven't seen any indication of the means they'd use to launch their rocks, since the aforementioned geysers aren't strong enough to get things into orbit... probably.
Revisiting the Juniors set, it's also named "asteroid discovery," identifying the boulders as extraplanetary. They're shown being broken open to find crystals, but in this specific case there's no shot of the alien emerging from it. Just the association of a fat alien being nearby some asteroids.
