Marvel took a lot of stuff from the comics in their movies, you can see the influence.
I mean sure you can't adapt 100 % every arc into movies, but I think they managed well to satisfy comics fans and regular movies audience.
As for Predator, the only way to go back to it's roots is basically to change the setting of the first movie. Hell, even cast The Rock in it, it would make profit without even trying.
