Current Playmobil feels like what LEGO used to be between 2005-2016 before the CEO changed and licenced sets became the norm. What I like most about LEGO is that every set fits together and you can build your own world, where every theme has it's place. I guess the same is true for Playmobile. Though I wonder how people do landscaping. As far as I know, Playmobil doesn't sell road elements, mountains, tunnels and the like. So you're left coming up with it yourself using cardboard, foam and similar. I'm always amazed how awesome the scenery looks in the tv commercials.
