>>9928213Its close but they're closer to the Laird/Eastman inks over Lawson pencil from the later half of volume 1. They're not as loose doodled as Lawson's later style but they have the blockier figures. Dooney in that era had muscular but rounded turtles, before developing to the more muscular style the 2k3 Turtles were based on.
The other thing is Dooney painted Lawson's art for volume 4 covers so there's a bit of cross pollination there, too.
The armored turtles kinda remind me of another artist, almost want to say AC Farley
