Also I can give figures a bit of a pass on wrist swivels most of the time, especially if they're small figures like IF ones (which usually have wrist movement anyway, not having wrists is more of an exception than the rule I think). They usually don't add much of anything to most figures that a upper arm swivel doesn't already do anyway due to how the arms of most TF's are very blocky, making it hard to hold weapons at an angle.

I think the surest way to tell is by production. Companies that are doing well probably are the ones that are able to continually show off new products and release them in a timely manner. Companies that are in the shitter or are low on cash probably take forever between releases because they don't have to money to ensure a swifter production schedule between design, engineering, prototypes, etc.

I doubt my dumb idea is always true though...
