It WAS castle. Regardless of what your opinion is. Castle is lego's theme to define how they want and they defined nexo knights as castle. It was their attempt to modernize a theme that isn't around now and hasn't been because it isn't financially viable. We can speculate on if kids (the primary target audience and the only one lego seems to care about) didn't like nexo knights because it wasn't pure castle, but the fact remains that not enough of them are into pure castle for the theme to come back.
The more I think about it the more I wonder if I would actually buy these mystical pure classic castle sets people seem think think nexo knights was blocking. Even if castle were to come back, people have to realize that it won't be 80s nostalga old grey and : ) faces
